As any farmland owner or farmer knows, making quality animal silage for the winter is a top priority. After all, the number and condition of the heads directly depends on its safety and nutritional value: it is necessary that the feed in the silo meets all the requirements. Therefore, in order to save all the valuable substances in it, it is necessary not only to properly prepare food for animals, but also to store it correctly: this is where the silage film comes to the rescue.
Before laying the silage in special trenches or pits, all crops must first be mowed and laid in such a way as to avoid getting even the smallest particles of earth into the forage harvest.
Then a well-sealed silage film is prepared, because the usual one is not suitable.
The thickness of the silage film should fit the various conditions: this can protect the feed preparations from the penetration of oxygen, which affects the oxidation processes, and atmospheric precipitation.
The length and width of the silage film is selected taking into account the dimensions of the trench - so that the number of joints is minimal. It is not recommended to glue or solder the silage film in order to avoid possible breaks and damage to the coating when exposed to high temperatures.
